A remedy for alleviating soil acidity is the use of lime. The lime should be used in adequate quantities, depending up on the acidity of the soil, and plant to be grown. 
Deficiency of Magnesium, Iron, Aluminium, and Calcium can also cause acidity,
Quick lime, hydrated lime, chalk, oyster-shell etc., may be used for improving acidic soils
