Arrogance also bluster, with a boorish attitude towards conversation with others in the peer group leads one to think they know more than they do. This along with the hesitation by others to avoid a serious confrontation with a person who acts this way creates this tendency. So with out any moderation, avoidance is one of the main contributing factors. This personally trait is sometimes mistaken for intelligence. It can be called ego, or narcissism, basically its just being a ;good old know it all.'
