1.1x +1.2x−5.4=−10 , What steps do I do to solve this

First, add the like terms (1.1x and 1.2x). Your equation will look like

2.3x-5.4= -10

Then, isolate the variable on one side by adding 5.4 to both sides. It will look like

2.3x= -4.6

Finally, isolate x by dividing by 2.3 on both sides. It will look like

x= -2
