The Fertile Crescent is composed of two major parts: Egypt (placed in north-east Africa along the Nile),  Mesopotamia and the land between them on the coast of the Mediterranean (today's Israel)

Mesopotamia is today's Iraq and surrounding regions, it's the shortest line between the Mediteranean and the Persian Gulf in Southwest Asia, along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
