Adolf Hitler was actually really smart but he was crazy the main reason why people joined him was because he already got Germany out of the great depression plus if they didn't join him they would be kicked out of the country and most of Germany was mad at the allies because of the treaty of Versailles so they saw no other choice. hope this helps :)
