Franklin's perspective about the importance of achieving moral perfection change over time is that he feels he would be an unrelated lie to his friends, Franklin realizes that he cannot be perfect.

Franklin wrote his autobiography to set an example on how to live out of 13 virtues who shared similar views to his and to help descendants in the future learn from his failures.
