Why did the King of France seek Franklin's company?

I believe the answer is because his scientific endeavors in electricity were noteworthy.
King Louis was only in his early twenty's at that time. Because of many of Franklin's work in electricity field, he became very popular in French and King Louis wanted to meet him in order to discuss the application of electricity in French.
