These technologies were in the farming profession. Several new technologies and techniques were invented in the Wild West including the mechanized reaper, dry farming, barbed wire, steel windmills, harrows, steel plows, hybridization and also the grain drill. These inventions all made it easier to have large farms without the need for an excessive amount of hands.
