how do i factor out the coefficient of the variable 3/5k = 3/10

Multiply both sides of the equation by the denominator, 5.
3/5k (5)=3/10(5)
3k=15/10
Then divide by the coefficient, 3, to both sides of the equation.
3k/3=15/10/3
k=1/2
