In higher latitudes where lakes freeze over in winter, how do cool autumn temperatures help fish make it through the winter?

Water from the bottom of the lake raises and provides oxygen to the cooler waters on the surface.
I think it is the one with the nutrients im doing the test now i will let you know if i get it right
