Differences between the 1818 and 1831 versions of frankenstein

Frankenstein's character is conceived very differently during these both periods. In 1818, he was more of the person who would practice free will and would not carry on with his experiments whereas in 1831 he is like any other individual, not making any difference and leaving everything to fate.
