Busbecq in outlining the differences between the Ottoman Empire and Austria focused on one key strategic aspect and that is the military. He contrasted the two armies stating the the one that is more ready for war was the Ottoman military as its soldiers were more humble, disciplined and adaptive. The Austrian soldiers on the other hand were mentally less prepared and and less disciplined.
