Brian needs 4 eggs to make an omelet.
If you have 6 eggs and split them equally into 3 groups there will be 2 eggs in each group. Brian needs 2/3 of the eggs which is 2 groups. Therefore he needs 4 eggs for an omelet.

one third of 6 is 2 so two thirds of 6 is 4
