= 1/4

Therefore, 1/4+ 1/6+ 1/12
= (1/12+ 1/6)+ (1/12+ 1/6)
= 2*(1/12+ 1/6)
= 2* (1/4)
= 2/4
= 1/2

In order to add fractions, they need common denominators
1/2 * 2 = 2/4 + 1/4 = 3/4
1/6 * 2 = 2/12 + 1/12 =3/12, divide by 3 to reduce = 1/4
1/4 * 3, 1/6 * 2 = 3/12 + 2/12 + 1/12 = 6/12, divide by 6 to reduce = 1/2
