North Dakota is the 19th largest of the 50 states but the 4th least populous and least densely populated, with a total area of 70,704 square miles and an estimated population of 756,927. The geographic borders of the North Dakota state, would be, as follows: in the North, the state is bordered by Canada and in the South, by South Dakota. In the East, the Red River Valley marks the border with Minnesota and in the West, the North Dakota borders by Montana.
