Oge was in Paris. Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity are the slogan for the French Revolution. He would have only picked that up in Paris which was the epicenter of the Revolution. He was actually there when the Revolution broke out on the streets of Paris. He had a front row seat to a very violent and bloody revolution that would overthrow a king, and tyrannical leader, and bring about a democracy to the people of France.
