Imagine that you pushed a box, applying a force of 60 newtons, over a distance of 4 meters. How much would you have done?

You would have done 240 joules of work on the box.

Work = (force)  x  (distance)

         =  (60 newtons)  x  (4 meters)

         =         240 joules  .
