When conducting research, scientists use the scientific method to collect measurable and first-hand evidence in an experiment related to a hypothesis. The results usually aim to support or contradict a theory.

To make observations and gather, organise, analyse and present their information.
If a scientist has new information they can back up and repeat steps at any point during the process
