[tex] {12x}^{3} + {2x}^{2} - 30x - 5 \\ = 2 {x}^{2} (6x + 1) - 5(6x + 1) \\ = (6x + 1)( {2x}^{2} - 5)[/tex]

Hope this helps. - M
