To solve quadratics, the most correct and effective way, in my opinion, is the quadratic formula:

[tex]{\displaystyle x={\frac {-b\pm {\sqrt {b^{2}-4ac}}}{2a}}.} [/tex]

Plugging it in, we get:

[tex] \frac{-4\pm \sqrt{16+72} }{12} = \frac{-4\pm 2\sqrt{22}}{12} = \frac{-2\pm \sqrt{22} }{6} [/tex]

So the final answer is:

[tex] \frac{ \sqrt{22}-2 }{6} [/tex] and [tex] \frac{-2- \sqrt{22} }{6} [/tex]
