Why were most slaves taken from west africa and not central africa or southern africa?

Slaves were taken from the west & central part of africa. But they were not taken from southern africa or east africa because the slave trade was going from europe to africa to around the U.S. and it would have taken longer if it wasn’t from those parts of africa.
