Florida has always been a hot spot for tourists...even in the 1800s. Many Americans enjoyed the beaches of Florida so business men got smart and decided to build resorts on these beaches. Locals and tourists alike stayed in these resorts and to this day much of Florida’s economy relies on tourism and beaches.
