The
Earth started to form 4.6 billion years ago. It is made from clouds of gases
that are mostly hydrogen and helium. The combination of interstellar dust that formed the sun
mixed with these molecules gave birth to Earth, the rest of the solar system,
and the entire galaxy with which Earth is located.
